Genius Gadgets Featured at CES 2016

Every year consumers are introduced to thousands of new gadgets. CES 2016 featured a plethora of exciting and crazy products that would excite even the most cynical of techies. Are they crazy or genius? You be the judge.

4D Motion Device

From 3D, virtual reality, smell-o-vision and everything in between, we are always on the lookout for innovative ways to make entertainment more immersive. Have you ever been to a cinema where the seats move in sync with the onscreen action? Sometimes these experiences include 3D glasses further enhancing the experience. What if your armchair could do the same? That’s the idea behind Immersit. It’s a set of hydraulic feet you can fit onto your chair with inventive tech inside that can read the content you’re watching, be it a game or a movie, and trigger appropriate motions.

Flying Taxi

Drones were all the rage in 2015, but Chinese company Ehang is upping the ante with the world’s first autonomous flying taxi. Cars that fly!

The giant quadcopter seats one and does not include any controls or steering devices. Simply select your destination using a mobile app and the Ehang 184 flies you there all by itself. With a cruising speed around 62 miles per hour, this flying taxi is only designed for short journeys, around the 20-minute mark, but who cares? It’s a flying car!

Hand Controlled Robotics Kit

Over the past decade, we have seen many do-it-yourself robotics kits come and go. However, the ZeroUI is the first one to include a wireless smartglove to control it! Let you imagination run wild as you build your car, droid, or whatever and then use the smartphone app to link movements with the glove to the motors within your creation. A robot we can command with the wave of a hand! It’s still being developed but is anticipated to hit the market later this month.

So what are your thoughts? Crazy and useless or innovative and genius?
