Recent Video Showcases Apple Campus Progression

Apple's second "spaceship" campus is scheduled to be completed in late 2016, giving the organization just under 12 months to wrap up construction to stay on schedule. Over the past few months, Apple’s construction crews have been hard at work, making a great deal of progress on the ring-shaped main building, underground auditorium, and the parking structures.

Drone pilot Duncan Sinfield recently shared an aerial video showcasing progress throughout Apple’s Campus 2 construction site, giving us a close-up look on how the site has improved since November. With four levels of the ring-shaped main building now complete, it’s safe to assume that the unique curved glass windows will likely be going up soon. The shape and design of the building will pay homage to Steve Jobs' original vision of the campus. With the walls in place, it's safe to assume that the special curved glass windows will likely be going up soon.

Sinefield’s video also gives a clear look at the underground auditorium Apple is building. Here they will host events to show off new products. When it's finished, the second Apple campus will feature the 2.8 million square foot ring-shaped main building (yes, 2.8 million square feet)!

Designed by UK architect Norman Foster, the building will house more than 13,000 Apple employees. Foster, worked closely on the plan with Steve Jobs until the Apple co-founder's unfortunate death in 2011. The main circular structure, designed with a solar panel roof, is rumored to incorporate office space across four floors revealing a massive 300,000 square feet of research facilities. Apple’s new campus will include fitness centers, dining facilities, a cutting edge R&D facility, an underground auditorium, jogging paths and underground parking to preserve the landscaped views. We look forward to more video updates in the next few months!
